Caleb University College of Law was established in September 2021. Shortly after, Prof Bello Orubebe was appointed as Dean/Provost, he dutifully steered the ship of the young college which soon played host to the Accreditation Teams from both the National Universities Commission and the Council of Legal Education and promptly got our Law programme accredited. The Council approved an admission quota of 50 students. Due to late arrangements, the college took off at the Magodo City Campus with only 36 students who were later joined by 9 direct admission students in 200 level.
Since then, the college has had its student admission increased progressively. In November 2024, the College, again, received the National Universities Commission as well as the Council of Legal Education for the second statutory accreditation exercise. It is worthy of note to recall that both regulatory authorities adjudged the facilities provided by Management as state-of-the-art, scoring the college with 94.2% and 98.4% respectively.
It is even gratifying to note that the Council of Legal Education increased the College admission quota from 50 to 110, with attrition for an additional 10; Caleb University College of Law thus became the first private university College of Law in Nigeria to attain that record as no young College of Law has ever been granted such admission quota without having graduated its first set!
Caleb University College of Law has, suddenly, become a reference point among Colleges of Law in Nigeria such that many universities have been consulting to learn how we achieved the feat; it is also no mincing of words that our College of Law is fast becoming the flagship of all the sister Colleges in Caleb University!
The College has also been doing great in its academic programmes, it participated in an international Mooting competition in South Africa last year; also, it recently hosted a similar competition in its Magodo City Campus where universities in South Western Nigeria participated and our college emerged a close runner up, losing the top prize by the whiskers!
It gladdens the heart that the College is riding high with its dedicated Faculty and very Fit and Proper students.

Dr. Olugbenga Asaaju
Dr. Olugbenga Asaaju is the Ag. Dean, College of Law. He is a pioneer staff of the College, he was called to the Bar some 21 years ago, he has had extensive experience in law practice as well as a considerable hands-on in the teaching of Law.

Dr. Olugbenga Asaaju is the Ag. Dean, College of Law. He is a pioneer staff of the College, he was called to the Bar some 21 years ago, he has had extensive experience in law practice as well as a considerable hands-on in the teaching of Law. He did his Doctoral Dissertation in Aviation Law, a seasoned Arbitrator and Mediator; he is a Fellow of the following national and international professional bodies, namely: Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators; Chartered Institute Management Consultants; Forensic Investigators Society, Nigeria; Chartered Institute of Human Capital Managers; as well as a Member of other renown professional bodies.
He has a good number of peer-reviewed academic Articles published in reputable journals. Dr. Asaaju is widely travelled, locally and internationally. His hobbies include public policy analysis, brain storming, football, table tennis, etc. Dr. Olugbenga Asaaju is happily married with children
